Running to the Cross

resurrection morning

Running to the Cross

When days are drear,
With not much cheer,
I run to the Cross
For He is now near.

Where else can I go?
Who else can protect
As I depart daily on
My earthly trek?

If I don’t know what to do –
What steps to take down the road,
I know the One whose selfless stride
Carried the Cross and now my load.

And when I don’t trust enough,
Whatever “enough” is,
I ask Him to supply that trust
And He always gives.

Though tired and weary,
From problems one by one,
I know where to walk, jog, then run
When trusting Jesus, God’s Son.

When days are drear,
And not much cheer,
I run to the Cross
For He is now near.

What happens when we have situations that are overwhelming?  Running to the Cross of Jesus Christ, through prayer, is the only answer.  When we have trusted Him as Savior, we can depend on that blood that flowed from Calvary to shield us from Satan, as we continue to put our whole-souled trust in God and obey Him.
