Christmas Memories

Christmas Cabin

   Christmas Memories

A crackle from the fireplace,
Some candy on the plate,
Snow outside the window,
Memories making Christmas quaint.

A tree stands in the corner
With tinsel and the lights,
And under, many surprises,
Packages decorated with delight.

But as we get together
There’s something first we do.
We tell the Christmas story
As if it all were new.

We share it with each other
From deep within our hearts.
Since we all love Jesus
We’ll never be apart.

And then we sing a carol
Of joy and peace on earth.
Many Christmas memories
Of the Eve of Jesus’ birth.

No matter how we might try, Christmas memories are really too hard to actually put into words.  The excitement; being with family and friends; smells from the kitchen; reading the Christmas Story; and singing the carols are all very exceptional.
