Praise the Lord and Reprise!

Verse 1:

Praise the Lord.
He is very gracious.
Praise the Lord.
He’s our glorious King.

Praise the Lord.
Lift our hearts and voices.
Praise Him
Till the rafters ring.

Hands now raised
Point the entryway of Heaven.
Show our love
As we come worshiping.

Chorus:

Sing it!
Shout it!
Feel it in our hearts.
Our joy upswings.

Move it!
Dance it!
Bow before
The throne of our wondrous King.

Verse 2:

Thank the Lord.
He is very generous.
Thank the Lord.
Our gratefulness springs.

Help each other
When we are discouraged.
Rejoice together
To each other we cling.

Tell the Word
To the nations, victorious.
Who He is
Removes death’s dark sting.

Chorus:

Sing it!
Shout it!
Feel it in our hearts.
Our joy upswings.

Move it!
Dance it!
Bow before
The throne of our wondrous King.

Reprise:

Sing it!
Shout it!
Move it!
Dance it!

Praise the Lord.
He is very gracious.
Praise the Lord.
He’s our wondrous King!

The Word of Christ Taught in the Spirit of Christ

ozark-christian-college-75th-anniversary-2-12-17

The Word of Christ
Taught in the Spirit of Christ
(Ozark Christian College – 1942 – 2017)
Colossians 1:28

“The Word of Christ
Taught in the Spirit of Christ”
For everyone to see.
This is the heart of OCC.

It isn’t the campus
Or any accreditation.
It’s how the Bible is presented.
That’s the real acclamation.

Faculty – men and women of God,
In their own lives show,
The life of Christ,
Faces warm and aglow.

Gospel truths,
Professors study and share
To challenge each
And hearts prepare.

All students – missionaries –
Christian soldiers trained for God,
Ambassadors
Going here and abroad.

So through 75 years past,
And it will always be –
“The Word of Christ
Taught in the Spirit of Christ”
At our cherished OCC.

Today I salute my alma mater, Ozark Christian College, Joplin, MO, and its 75th Anniversary.  Please read some background as follows:

“Academic Dean Seth Wilson  . . . was dedicated to hiring teachers of genuine Christian character who were zealous for the winning of the whole world to Christ.  Their theme was to teach, ‘the word of Christ in the spirit of Christ. ‘ ”  [Meredith Williams, “From Anywhere to Everywhere: The Story of Ozark (Part 2),” Ozark Christian College Compass, Spring 2012.]

I Can Hardly Take It In

crsshart-cross-in-heart

I Can Hardly Take It In

The love of God –
I can hardly take it in
What Jesus did
To take away my sin.

Love so pure and free
That touches my inner soul
So powerful to forgive my sin
And make me whole.

God sent His son
He gave up His glory
To come to earth
To live the Story.

This agape love –
A suffering servant
Looking not to Himself
Lifting my verdict.

The love of God –
I can hardly take it in.
What Jesus did
To take away my sin.
