Trusting Now

Hebrews 13:8

Trusting Now

Your past trust in God:
Failing or victory,
Forgetting or praising.
But that’s history.

Your future trust in Him:
Don’t have to hurry
Because it’s yet to be.
Not to worry.

But trusting God:
This moment, now,
That’s all that matters.
You’ll see how.

Regretting things or living in the blessings of the past won’t help us, neither will worrying about the future.  We must ask ourselves, “Can I trust in Jesus now?” Yes!  That’s all we need to do.

Down Not Out

Down Not Out

When life runs over you like a truck,
Maybe a semi or bigger,
You lay there and think,
“How will I get up?”

Lawyers might be good,
Using a lot of fancy words,
Finding legal loopholes,
But just liking to be heard.

Politicians claim
Everything’s getting better,
Though in the end many laws
Creep on us like fetters.

Environmentalists could help.
The Earth they support,
Caring about nature,
Yet people aren’t their forte.

Doctors curing what ails
Is the physician’s goal,
Still having limits,
Not touching the soul.

Preachers have it right,
The message very clear,
Telling the power of Jesus,
Bringing those who listen cheer.

Jesus Christ lifts us up
After being knocked down by life,
As we trust in Him,
Through all our daily strife.

When life runs over you like a truck,
Maybe a semi or bigger,
You lay there and think,
“How will I get up?”

When we’ve been hit by life, it may take us awhile to recover.  This is only possible through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and no other person.
