Children Know the Gift: A Christmas Day Reading

Angels to the earth descending,
Full of Christmas joy.
Powerful is their message blending,
“It’s a baby boy.”

Soaring in the sky,
Shepherds see the band.
Saying, “Glory to God in the Highest,”
With Peace to all the land.

They go with haste,
To where the baby lays.
Then worship God and praise Him,
Telling all, along the way.

Then two years pass,
Since the Wise Men saw the Star,
And follow it to Bethlehem.
They follow it afar.

And when they come into the house,
See the Child King!
Gifts of gold, incense, and myrrh,
To Him they humbly bring.

As we think on Christmas Day,
Of this story, very old,
We know the gift that God gives us
Is Jesus, long foretold.

Los niños saben del Regalo: una lectura navideña

Los ángeles descienden a la tierra,
con el gozo del nacimiento contemplando.
Poderoso era su mensaje del profetizado,
mientras lo anunciabana cantando.

Volando con gracia arriba en los cielos,
los pastores ven a los divinos alados
mientras dicen “gloria a Dios en las alturas,
y paz en la tierra para los que Él ha aprobado”.

Y los pastores se fueron con prisa
a donde el bebé yacía acostado.
Entonces adoraron a Dios y lo alabaron
proclamando las noticias en todos lados.

Luego transcurrieron dos años
desde que los astrólogos avistaran la señal,
y siguieran dicho astro hasta Belén,
encontrándose con el príncipe celestial.

Y cuando entraron a la casa,
¡vieron al niño que sería el Rey Eterno!
Regalaron oro, olíbano y mirra,
obsequios dignos para un sempiterno.

Mientras recordamos el día de su nacimiento,
de esta relato tan dignamente recordado,
sepamos que el regalo que Dios nos ha dado
es Jesús, desde hace tiempo profetizado.
