Holding On To Christmas
I’m holding on to Christmas
Way past New Year’s Eve.
I’m holding on to memories
That linger and won’t leave.
My tree’s still up.
Opened gifts all around.
Pies yet in the frig –
In whip cream they’ll be drown.
The Christmas lights
Still shine on the Nativity scene.
A reminder of God’s greatest gift,
Baby Jesus even now agleam.
I cherish my loved ones
Remembering them so true.
There could be no season any better
Having togetherness that grew.
So, I’m holding on to Christmas.
I’ll never let it go,
In expectation of next year,
I’ll bask in its afterglow.

“Really like this poem. [Christmas Is A Family Time / Navidad es época familiar] My favorite line was about the star not being on the tree. Also relating the ornaments to the gifts from the wise men.” Nancy R., Kansas, OK.
SHARING AT SUNDAY SCHOOL
“I really enjoy your poetry. I will start sharing in my Sunday school classes.” Travis B., Asbury, WV.
