Pullin’ and Prayin’

Pullin’ and Prayin’

Psalm 107:17-22

I’m pullin’ and prayin’
For you to come through.
Your health failed again,
But your job you must go to.

You’re gaunt and frail.
You were once muscular strong.
Now your face is drawn.
Your vigor all gone.

But God will answer.
I’m sure of this now.
His healing energy.
His healing power.

You’re looking better
As time goes on.
Strength returning –
A phenomenon

Laughter returns
Like the good old days.
Still pullin’ and prayin’
That this all will stay.

When you have a relative that has been very ill, and you want them so badly to get well, and you pray for them, and God answers — it is so wonderful!  You then continue to pray that they will stay in good health.

Ask

Matthew 7:7-11

Ask and it will be given …
Another hour goes by.
Another day will come.
And He always supplies.

Seek and you will find.
Somewhere it will be found.
Something you are looking for.
Specifically a Person the Answer, profound.

Knock and the door will be opened …
Knowing He’ll answer, wide.
Kind and loving Father.
Kneeling, we are satisfied.

Surprise Me, God!

Surprise Me, God!

Surprise Me, God!
With those wonderful things
You do which delight
Me through and through.

Not something I hear about,
Although that is inspiring,
But something I experience –
Your activity in my life thriving.

It may be someone
Coming closer to you
As you work via me
To cause them to see.

It may be a situation
That seems unsolvable,
But you open the door
To make it resolvable.

Thrill me with your works.
More and more and more let me see
Your powerful Hand touching
My world, actually.

Surprise Me, God!
With those wonderful things
You do which delight
Me through and through.

When You’re on the Prayer List

mailinglist-800px

When You’re on the Prayer List
Matthew 18:19-20
Psalm 46:1

When you’re on the Prayer List,
And people see your name,
There’s a hopeful feeling –
The answer will be proclaimed.

Requests go out though the email,
And on the church website, too.
Where two or three agree,
They are “touching” you.

Then you receive a phone call.
It’s from Mrs. Brown.
She offers a lot of Christian love
Which takes you “up” from “down.”

An awesome card comes.
It’s signed “Pastor Bill.”
He says to “Get Well Soon.”
Your heart with joy is filled.

Sister June brings
A family-size chicken pot pie.
It help so much for meals
And God is glorified.

The children in the Sunday School
Make a DVD.
They sing your favorite gospel song.
It blesses you to see.

You are glad that they are praying.
This changes your direction.
You feel at peace now
As you have this intercession.

The Prayer List is important for all churches to keep tabs on those with physical and spiritual needs.  That way those who want to can lift others up in prayer.  This may lead to knowledge of situations and ministry to those with needs.  We must not forget to pray for others.

I Receive It

Distraught-Man-Praying

I Receive It

He does the job
Of fixing the plumbing.
A gospel song
He is humming.

When he is through working,
We settle up with him.
He receives the money,
A fair sum, not based on whim.

But, he tells us he’s been gravely ill,
At death’s door has stood.
He asks for prayer to
Regain health completely – good.

After prayer is offered in Jesus’ name,
I still remember his words as he sits,
With belief of answered prayer,
Raising hands, he says, “I receive it.”

When people pray for us
Do we restfully receive?
God may give more than a “fair sum” –
Abundance, when we believe.
