When the Blessings Come / Cuando venga la bendición

When the Blessings Come

When the blessings come,
Flooding o’er our soul,
We’re immeasurably enriched
Knowing God has control.

When the blessings come,
We are filled with joy,
Not something we’ve done,
But what God employs.

When the blessings come,
Happiness new again starts –
A cloudburst flowing
Though our hearts.

When we sit awhile and think about all the trials God has helped us through, sometimes the thoughts of his blessings rush over us like a powerful spiritual surge.

Cuando venga la bendición

Cuando venga la bendición
e ilumine nuestras almas como el sol,
nos enriquecerá inmesurablemente
porque sabremos que Dios tiene el control.

Cuando venga la bendición
de gozo se llenará nuestra voz,
y no por voluntad propia
sino por la misericordia de Dios.

Cuando venga la bendición
la felicidad de nuevo brotará,
y como un aguacero proveyente del cielo
a través de nuestros corazones fluirá.

Where is the Rain?

I Kings 18:41- 19:8
Ezekiel 34:26

Where Is the Rain?

Seems for ages, we ask -
Where is the rain?
The drought is upon us,
Dry heat and parched pain.

When will rain come?
A long while, we've not seen any.
We look for blessings,
Spiritual heights, not many.

But we hold faith that God
Will soon quench our thirst,
Receiving Living Water
Through God's Word, burst.

Then we glance toward Heaven,
Seeing some mist in the sky.
Lifting up our heads.
Our blessings draw nigh.

The rain sprinkling at first.
Then vigorously heavy still.
The blessings just keep coming.
They are really real.

Where is the rain
As we wait, watch, and pray?
In His time, the blessings come again.
The blessings come to stay.

Sometimes we wait for blessings to flow from God and it just doesn’t happen on our timetable.  We must watch and pray and trust Him for these sustained blessings.

When the Blessings Come

When the Blessings Come

When the blessings come,
Flooding o’er our soul,
We are richly rewarded
Knowing God has control.

When the blessings come,
We are filled with joy,
Not something we’ve done,
But what God employs.

When the blessings come,
Happiness new again starts –
A cloudburst flowing
Though our hearts.

“The Christian poetry of Charles Mayes added a creative break to the Bethel Hymn Sing. Even poems with motions for Children’s programs . . . ”
