A Good Talk

John 15: 13 – 15

Nighttime with head on pillow,
Gettin’ some beautiful healin’,
Talkin’ to Jesus ’bout
How I’m really feelin’.

Just an honest chat
(No formula for prayer)
With my Savior,
As I’m lying there.

Praying to Him.
A real heart to heart.
He listens as a Friend.
His grace imparts.

And then to sleep, I

In His loving arms,
Comforted, enthralled.

Joyfully, All We People Come

Joyfully, All We People Come

Psalm 122:1

Chorus:

Joyfully, all we people come
To the House of the Lord.
Worshiping Him and praising Him,
Singing with one accord.

Thanking Him, all of us today
For coming to show His love.
Seeing what He’s done before,
Leaving from Heav’n above.

Verse 1:

Fellowship so very sweet,
Greeting all – everyone.
Smiling and laughing faces
Becoming one in the Son.

Listening now to His Word,
Quiet as we can be.
Letting His Spirit guide us
In His grace, we are freed!

Partaking of unleavened bread
And shimmering fruit of the vine.
Remembering Him on Calvary
As we spiritually dine.

Chorus:

Joyfully, all we people come
To the House of the Lord.
Worshiping Him and praising Him,
Singing with one accord.

Thanking Him, all of us today
For coming to show His love.
Seeing what He’s done before,
Leaving from Heav’n above.

Verse 2:

Stirring waters once again
As many go down inside.
Showing us through Baptism
He rose right after He died.

Giving to God – a cheerful time,
With deep joy in our hearts.
Out-giving God, how can it be,
Who showed us from the start?

Praying for one another,
Taking hands across the aisle.
Asking for Christian unity
And help with all our trials.

Ending Chorus:

Joyfully, all we people go
From the House of the Lord.
Telling ones all about Him
So they will be restored.

Thanking Him, all of us today
For coming to show His love.
Seeing what He’s done before,
Leaving from Heav’n above.

HOLINESS TO THE LORD

seek the Lord

HOLINESS TO THE LORD

I went to the meeting
And up high I looked
As the towering sign,
“Holiness to the Lord,” right from the Book.

I thought about it,
For quite a long while,
What it meant,
Then it made me smile.

It wasn’t something
That I could earn or do.
It was something only the Lord
Could carry me through.

The key is God’s grace
That, years ago, I’d found,
To enable me to take on His holiness
From Heavenward down.

It was a Victory
That I’d just found,
A step closer to the Lord
Hearing His voice sound.

It is only Him,
Who will guide me through
Those “Holiness to The Lord” daily things,
Reaching to the Blue.

When I think about that sign, over the platform in the church worship center, it reminds me of not only what God wants, but it also reminds me of what God gives us when we seek Him.

As This New Year Approaches

As This New Year Approaches

As this New Year approaches
No resolutions do I make,
Except to remain close
To You, God, for Jesus’ sake.

To keep basking in Your grace
And when in sin I fall,
I get up soon upon Your path
To once more give You my all.

To know that I continue
To be in Your family,
Under the font of blood
Flowing from Calvary.

So I can have peace
Again this New Year,
As I still trust in You
And have no fear.

Are you still living in God’s grace as we go into this New Year?  Remember – Holy Bible – I Peter 5: 6-7 – “So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you”. (The Message)
