I See Jesus

Matthew 25:31-46

I see Jesus
Loving those in need,
By way of His selfless servants,
Helping with kind deeds.

Who make sandwiches, providing showers,
Supporting the homeless,
Through those long hard hours.

Who give hope because of Him,
Visiting prisoners,
In their situation, grim.

Who, to a grieving family, sadness quell,
Serving dinner,
Though they themselves not well.

Who drill for water to burst,
Going to a third world country,
Relieving  persons’ thirst.

Who talk about a relation,
Preaching on sidewalks,
Telling of salvation.

I see Jesus
Loving those in need,
By way of His selfless servants,
Helping with kind deeds.

Walking on the Emmaus Road

When I was growing up, we had a beautiful picture hanging in our home called “The Road to Emmaus.”  As I grew older, I loved to look at that picture and imagine what it would like to be on that Road joining the men and Jesus.  What a wonderful experience that would be and is!

Walking on the Emmaus Road
(Luke 24:13-35)

I yearn to walk on the Emmaus Road
Again this Easter time.
I want to be with the two;
and Jesus – so sublime.

To first hear the Master’s voice,
So calming and so clear,
To tell Him all of our concerns,
To tell Him all our fears.

As we walk He tells us more:
(Revealed today in the Bible pages)
Of His great and wondrous plan,
Throughout all the countless ages.

Then the setting sun,
As we get almost there,
“Stay with us,” we say
To Jesus so wonderful and fair.

He tells us “yes.”
And then at the table we recline,
To eat some bread
Which was by His design.

Then our eyes are opened
To Who He really is –
Our marvelous Savior
Who has mightily ris’n.

He disappears and then we talk,
Of how our hearts did burn,
Within us while we walked along,
At each and every turn.

I yearn to walk on the Emmaus Road
Again this Easter time – praise give!
Because only on that Road
Will I grow, and will I live.

My Rescue

My Rescue

Psalm 107:17-22

The Rebellion

I was a fool
Rebelling against God
Going my own way.
Away from Him I trod.

The Suffering

The suffering was awful.
There was no hope.
Hating life itself,
I couldn’t cope.

The Cry

Crying out to God,
“Oh, hear me now.
I’m sorry for my sin.
To You I bow.”

The Rescue

He rescued me
Out of my distress.
He lifted me up
From all the mess.

The Word

His Word He sent
Speaking to me.
Touching my heart.
Setting me free.

The Healing

I was healed –
Mind and soul,
Physically and spiritually.
He’s in control.

The Thanksgiving

Thanking Him always.
Changed inside.
Forever more
With Him I abide.

The Telling

I tell others
What He did.
Singing for joy,
My sins He rid.
